Genelle brings 25 years of human resources experience to PeopleFirst with executive leadership in both higher education and manufacturing. She has experience in public and private, profit and non-profit, religious and non-religious, global and national, and small and large organizations. She has started up HR departments, expanded organizations through mergers and acquisitions, and enhanced already developed HR departments, ensuring they effectively balance and support the needs of the employees and align their efforts with the strategic direction of the organization.
Genelle leads PeopleFirst HR Solutions' efforts in the greater SE MN region. Her knowledge of local businesses is strong, given her 15 years of local board leadership roles. Genelle was Chair of the Winona Area Chamber of Commerce, an executive board member for the United Way of Greater Winona, and most recently a board director for the Cotter Schools. She continues to teach Master's level HR courses for Saint Mary's University of Minnesota.
Genelle has a Master's degree in business management from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota and her experience, skills, accomplishments, and style are ideal to effectively address and support all types and sizes of organizations with any HR need. Some of her areas of expertise include, but are not limited to, organizational development and training (succession planning, employee development, supervisor training, leadership and HR coaching), performance management, compensation and benefits plans, talent acquisition (search and on boarding), reductions in force and career transitions, regulatory compliance and policy development, employee relations/investigations, mergers and acquisitions, outsourcing, and strategic and HR planning and reporting.
